Virtual CD는 가상 CD/DVD 드라이버 프로그램로 가상 CD/DVD 파일을 DVD-R/RW로 굽기가 가능한 프로그램입니다.
이런 종류의 가상 CD/DVD 드라이버 프로그램을 사용하면 하드디스크에 가상의 CD-ROM을 적용하는 효과로 CD를 교체등의 불편함이나 속도 저하, 전력 낭비를 줄이는 효과를 볼수 있습니다.
